I just read about this on Wikipedia, I'm so disappointed! I love this show. At least they're on DVD now. Back in the day they had a virtually identical series called "Survivor Science", I wish they'd bring back those episodes sometime. There were two stories in each hour instead of one.

Yeah also if you download "VeohTV" (its free) and search for "I shouldn't be alive" most of the episodes are on there, you can watch them online. It really is stupid for D.C. to stop producing this series, there are so many stories yet to be told and its one of the best "disaster" series ever made (Air Crash Investigations is only a bit better).

That Volcano escape episode is amazing, they really went way above and beyond with the FX and shooting location to make it look and feel very realistic.

Well, if you preferred some decades old cowboy show to the laughs of Seinfeld, then you're really in a small, tiny, micro.... minority. Seinfeld lasted, what, ten years? How long did "High Chapparel" last? :)

That said, this series is informative and I watch it to see what I might learn.

Just the same, it can be a little stressful which is why most people don't want to watch it. Or, maybe most people KNOW they're never going to visit Africa and encounter crocs.... etc, so they can't relate.

The best episodes I've seen in this series were the two about people getting lost in the Amazon jungle. Nothing like a slow torture of the elements (humidity, rain, heat) and a variety of critters eating you alive (mosquitos, leeches, ants, cougars) to make life miserable. Modern humans have developed the idea that there will always be a rescue operation nearby..... when the fact is...... that isn't the case in many places on the planet. In many cases, you're on your own. TOTALLY on your own. Nobody to blame. Nobody to complain to.
