What does back burner mean?
I don't understand the comment: "The Coen brothers have put this project on the back burner." Can someone please explain it to me? Thank you

Their next project is The Serious Man, so I would guess the soonest they could get to this one might be early next year.
You know the tub where you take your little baths? They've done it there, too.
Front Burner - Interested, active, working on currently, higher flame.
Back Burner - Interested, idling, simmering, lower flame.
So maybe TRUE GRIT would be considered to be on the drain board thawing out but with the wrapper is still on (?)
