HELP ME I'M STUCK! (SPOILERS)

What did Mason mean by the line (and forgive me because I will probably misquote), "I was hoping you were the one"; did he think that she would be the one to help him to stop, because he still sketched her final scene ... or was this a part of the duality in him, his desire to complete the 'her' sketchpad (so to speak) and the fact that he dispised what he does.

HELP!!!! Confused!

BUT dug the ending... all through the movie, I tried to predict the twist, knew that every twist I could come up with was DONE before and with the ratings to be so high I thought they all had to be wrong - too common, too corny ... this twist surprised me TWICE! LOVED IT! LOVED IT!

Another goodie - "He was a Quiet Man" - good acting, good story, kept the pace -another good twist!

How can it be that I...didn't exist before...and...someday, I...will no longer be who I am?
