Rachel + Dex pursuing a relationship is the RIGHT thing to do, heres why
OK here's the deal. We ALL have this one Life to live & our choices make up the quality of life & the level of happiness & joy it will bring us. We pick & choose our battles. Love & choosing . the person to spend our life with is one of the hugest and most serious deals we can make ourselves. True friendship is also a rarity. & throwing away a true friendship for the sake of filling your curiosity on what your BFFs hot lover is like in bed for a one night stand or for a irresponsible LUSTY affair is trashy & wrong and not worth it. However, TRUE TRUE LOVE.... Is a difficult thing to just let go by and your best friend deserves the consideration on what it TRULY that you are putting your friendship on the line for.
Was Darcy a Selfish Attention seeking, oblivious, self centered, narcissistic tart? YES. Was Rachel a mousy, meek, whiny, insecure doormat? YES. Was Dex totally lame & wrong and a pussy for not asking Rachel out first and then dating Darcy, her BFF, for longer than he should've & even had the audacity to ask Darcy to marry him when he was in fact in love with Rachel? YES.
However, was it wrong for Rachel and Dex to go for what they really wanted, which was to be with one another? NO. RACHEL & DEX JUST WENT ABOUT IT THE WRONG WAY!
People cannot let true love like that pass them by, even if a friendship is at stake. I mean they CAN but it will make their heartache the REST OF THEIR LIFE. Especially if Darcy and Rachel's friendship would have raveled & fell apart anyways. if Darcy went ahead and married Dex, those feelings would bubble up & cause tension, heartache & friction so badly that Rachel wouldn't be able to be friends with Darcy or hang around Dex and vice versa. It would be really Stupid for Rachel & Dex to not act on their love esp when Rachel knows that Darcy doesn't appreciate or love him the way that she does. The heart wants what the heart wants and nobody can help that feeling. however they CAN help how they DEAL with those feelings & the situation.
The initial fine line between the time Rachel & Dex first admit their true feelings for another can be blur between right & wrong on what they are doing to Darcy, but you know there has to be that initial admission of love or actually physical chemistry for them to know Dex and Rachel truly want to be together & its something they're willing to take a risk on. The moment they realized or figured out those emotions they should've stopped & not had an lengthy affair. Right then and there no matter what even if Dex wasn't going to be with Rachel he should've ended it w Darcy because he wasn't even truly, 100% into it and that's reason enough. Then they both should've individually had a sitdown heart-to-heart with Darcy and Rachel should've been up first and it would've been a really hard conversation to have but I don't think she could've afforded not to. I mean this is peoples lives. Darcy would've probably been in denial, felt betrayed, even ambushed and that's when Dex should've privately talk to her next. Yeah it would've sucked, yeah there might of been a chance that Darcy and Rachel had to and their friendship but if they went about it this particular way there's still would've been a chance that Darcy and Rachel could've been able to repair their relationship down the line because you know Darcy would be hurt the most because it's all about a competition to her, she's not really in love with Dex & we see that. But that's still not an excuse and its not how every love triangle story is going to be. But Dex & Rachel chose to go about it in the manner that they did and in real life I'm betting that the two best friends probably are less likely to keep their friendship because regardless if the person in Darcy's position was or wasn't madly in love with her fiancé , it's still hurts and sucks to be betrayed & Know that your best friend and lover were having an affair behind your back and lying to you the whole time & they probably would've kept it a secret the whole time except they got caught.
and heres the kicker.... it would be extremely hard to admit to your BEST FRIEND that you are in love with her lover, but its a serious condition people cannot help. and if that best friend loves you back and is all for your happiness and well being, that best friend probably wouldve WANTED you to be honest and tell her your feelings and she would WANT YOU TO BE HAPPY or see you acheive happiness in life. She wouldnt want to see you suffer.... she would know you are in love with her lover and she may feel weird and hurt and upset and confused at first but in the end they will have to deal with it however way. maybe the best friend would leave the lover that her bff admitting to loving and neither one would get him or her and they just renew their friendship instead and not let a man come between them. or maybe she would back down and give her approval for her bff and lover to date because she wasnt that into him anyway. You never know. But i guarantee a best friend would not want to purposely tourture you by rubbing her relationship in your face after you admitted you are in love with her lover.
