Dex is such a wimp

i would hardly call that a wimp. in the book, dex is explained to be a bit more cold, but in the film, the backstory they created with his mother's depression explains a lot about his actions. he spent his life wanting to make people happy, so he fell in the role of the follower. darcy wanted him, he followed. he cared about their feelings too much to end it. I think society would be a nicer place if we all cared about each other feelings more.

I agree that he came off really poorly in this. He had no backbone at all! I understand what they were going for but it failed IMO. I was hoping that at the very end it was revealed that she was meeting up with Ethan or anyone else really, as long as it wasn't the guy who had treated her so badly because he had no spine.
