Scorsese's Worst Film In Years!
This is by far the worst film Scorsese has made in about 20 years Andrew Garfield was badly miscast in this film and having him narrate the entire film was a huge mistake what was Scorsese thinking? The film other than a few scenes was extremely slow and boring and it just felt very overall flat to me. I did not understand having Jesus speak in a couple of scenes I found that bizarre. I also think not having any music playing in the background contributed to the overall dullness of the entire film. Adam Driver and Liam Neeson along with the actor who played the inquisitor were the standouts and delivered great performances but they had so little screen time they could not save this boring film. I could not understand why this film has gained little traction in the Oscar race and now having seen it I understand why. I do not think this film deserves to be nominated for any awards besides cinematography. It would not surprise me at all after the nominations are announced Silence ends up getting completely snubbed it deserves it. I also expect this because of poor word of mouth to end up being Scorsese's lowest grossing film since Kundun. I can't imagine seeing this film in theaters I bet everyone walked out by the end or were fast asleep lol.
