As Scorsese movies go...

..Silence is, at the very least, much better than Shutter Island and Kundun.

I would also say it's just as good as The Last Temptation of Christ, After Hours, The King Of Comedy, Gangs of New York and The Aviator.

I would still say that Scorsese's top 5 movies are:
Raging Bull
Taxi Driver
Goodfellas
The Departed
Mean Streets

Silence has become my favourite film by this master filmmaker. It stuck with me much more powerfully than his other films. That is no mean feat, either, as I love (dearly) his other films, particularly Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, and Gangs of New York.
