Yeah I think he should have atleast got a nomination for sure. I said in an earlier post that lots of people already know he's made for comedies and isnt a real actor so they dont even give him a chance. I thought he was amazing! I dont often get so moved by a performance

Nah, he was reusing his impaired-guy schtick from Punch-Drunk Love. He played his character in this film too similarly to that one.

Sandler gets too much of a pass for this film from folks here. It was never believable that this character was a dentist, since he played him so thoroughly non-functional and unintelligent. If that role had been played by an unknown actor, this would have been more of an issue.
