Liv Tyler's character, Angela Oakhurst's office number is 1138--"an obvious nod to THX 1138". How is that an "obvious nod"???? Anyone else agree? This is totally not a big deal at all, but I'm just wondering if anyone agrees with that claim and can explain why it's "obvious".
sharewhen i watched this movie i noticed the number on the door and thought too myself ' 1138? i winder if thats a star wars/george lucas tribute/nod'. whoever wrote that bit of trivia obviously thought the same thing and decided to claim it as fact for us all to read and feel happy about for seom reason. id just ignore it cos who the hell is gonna be able to prove that, short of asking the director of course :)

shareWell, actually, it's pretty known in the movie business that Lucas uses the number 1138 in most of his movies as a way of referencing THX 1138, so I don't think they would've chosen to put that number on her door if they didn't mean to reference THX.

Another hole in this theory is that the door reads "1136". The "Deco" writing makes it hard to tell between the two digits...that's when TiVo comes in handy.
shareYes, 1138 is used in tons of movies as a nod to George Lucas, but like someone else said, a second glance will show you it's actually 1136. Took me a second glance anyway, it really does look like 1138, a very popular/famous number.
