i got the album and movie about 5 years ago. hey, it is Vedders favorite album, so i really got into "The Who".
Anyway, the movie Quadrophenia is a "Cult Classic". I got the whole Scooter thing as soon as i saw Sandler riding it.

I love the Who and "Quadrophenia," but I didn't get the scooter thing until I read your post. You're absolutely right, though: It was an homage to the mod-era Who.
I identified with Charlie's love of the Who, Seger and Springsteen very much, and it probably wasn't appropriate, but I burst out laughing when he started singing really loudly while wearing his headphones in the courtroom.
And shouldn't this film have been titled "Reign O'er Me"? Why the "v"?
