Heartbreaking

Sandler's projection of Charlie was unbelievable. The unbearable pain and suffering that comes when you lose everything that you hold most dear. Something so painful that it completely destroys you. I've lost people too, but never from something like 9/11. My best friend was my sister, Ashley. She was the most beautiful, vibrant, and caring person that I have ever known. She died two years ago in a car accident. Her body had to be extricated from the vehicle in multiple pieces. This caused me to identify the character of Charlie. The horrible pain causes you to shut down often, like getting sucked into a black hole, and its a constant, brutal fight to pull yourself out of it.

My heart and thoughts go out to all of the victims and families that lost people on September 11.

I love this movie. I remember when I saw it in theaters alone, cried like a baby. And every time I've watched it after that, cried like a baby. Those last few scenes at the end get me every time.

Sorry to hear about your sister. I just finished watching this movie for the 2nd time. Like you it reminded me of my own family tragedies,

Don't know if you ever get over it...I guess you just adapt and live with it.
