I feel like the plot shown here on IMDb needs to change..
I feel it spoils the movie somehwhat, in the plot it is mentioned that his family died in the 9/11 plane crash. But it is never excplicity stated that his family died in the 9/11 crash at all (im 99% sure, only something very briefly about Al Queada, that probably flies over someone's head), and you probably only found out his family died in a plane crash like 40 minutes into the film.

If it wasnt stated in the plot here on IMDb so bluntly it wouldve added a level of mystique to the character of Charlie, because you dont exactly know how his family died, for like the first 40 minutes or so.

I dont know why everyone is hating on this film for ''cashing in on 9/11 shock drama, etc, etc'', when it is never explicity stated that his family died because of nine eleven, only that his family died in a plane crash. Never bluntly stated, only subtley hinted at

Still loved the film, just thought i'd share my 2 cents on this

I agree with the OP that the story summary could be a little less explicit. I like trailers to be a little less revealing of the whole story of a movie too.

But as for not being specific about 9/11 being the cause of his family's death, it was made very it clear in the movie. Sugarman, his lawyer, states while talking to Cheadle's character that "...from Sep 12th, in his mind, he never had a family," or something to that effect. Also Sandler talks a bit about Boston and JFK airports, where the hijackers hijacked the planes from.
