Nope. In the U.S., the mother automatically gets custody unless the father can prove a monumental reason to give it to him. He would have the prove the child in imminet danger of serious physical harm or death. Neil could not prove that, even though the wife was a nutjob. His infidelity would not enter into the equation. And failing to get a criminal conviction for the wife's nonsense, the mom would get the kid.

mothers are more LIKELY to get the kid. Most of the time the mother gets the kid, Cause judge tend to think the mother better...but it no actullal rule that the mother has to get kid
Actually, you sort of support my point. Britney is a nutjob, and she still get access to the kids. As of this date, she has NOT lost permanent custody of her kids. The judge will try anything he can to get them back together, even if Federline objects. Such an arrangement does not exist when the father wants the kids.
I don't have hard statistics, but I imagine that the father is awarded cutody of kids in a divorce less than five percent of the time. The mom has to be an irreparable mess. Even if the father has a bunch of bucks, can easily feed, educate, and secure the kids better than the trashy mom, the custody will go to mommy. Even if the kids live in squalor, mommy gets custody and child support. This has been seen too many times in the media.
The bond between mother and child is considered sacred by the courts, and breaking that bond is something that few family court judges ever do.

The woman put everyone, including the child, in extreme danger. If the father had escaped, gone and taken the child and gotten in a wreck flying to police or wherever, the woman would be at fault.The guy could have decided to chance it and "escape, kill the man and maybe the woman on accident somehow(explosion, who knowa). Anyway, the woman would get years for the crimes she committed so the dad would get the kid, hands down.
