Doug Liman prefers an 'unlocked script'? And why was everyone fired?

The "uncensored" extra on the Blu-ray says this is why he fired almost the entire cast after a couple weeks of shooting and started over. But "unlocked script" on Google just pulls up a lot of coding/hacking stuff; when I add "filmmaking" I get virtually nothing. Anyone understand what that means? And why the wholesale change of actors? Who got fired? I know there are famous cases like Back to the Future, but although that involved the lead character it didn't also involve wholesale junking of a bunch of supporting actors as well.

I guess from the rushes the film was not working leading to a re-cast and re-write of the script.

The finished product looks what is an underdeveloped film.

Its that man again!!

Whoever came up with the idea of Paladins should have been fired and never allowed to work in Hollywood again.

So you'll probably never see this. But, originally it was Tom Sturridge cast in the lead role, Teresa Palmer as the hot chick crush, and Karl Urban as Roland. Jaimie Bell was basically the only big original cast member who kept his job. 2 weeks before production was to begin, Doug Limon thought it would be better to bump the ages up from high schoolers to mid 20-somethings, and demanded a quick rewrite to get rid of most of the edgy high school YA angsty stuff, firing the younger actors in the process. Samuel L Jackson was Limon's first choice for the villain but he was not available, which is why Urban came on board. But due to the production being pushed back, Jackson became available so they let Urban go.
