Protagonist was a total douche

So after apparently dying, this guy never lets anyone who loves him know he's still alive, then goes around robbing banks, jumping all over the friggin' place like it doesn't matter anyone can see him use his magic powers (which apparently he got for no reason whatsoever), next he doesn't want to explain anything to his crush for half the movie (even though half the world saw him jump around at that point so he could as well just tell her), and he never does as she asks, then he meets this fellow jumper, whom he immediately starts stalking, also ignoring all of his requests 100% of the time, then he gets his father killed - okay, that may have been unintentional - but then he gets his crush almost killed for like 3 times in a row, then when fellow jumper sees a chance to kill the 'bad guys' with a bomb, he stops him, oh wait, after having given away his secret hideout,

I MEAN WHAT THE HELL! halfway into this movie I really hoped Samuel Jackson would succeed killing this punk because clearly, he deserved to die.

But no. And yes, he still gets the girl. If I were that girl, I would have dumped his ass early on. To be fair, she did try to get rid of him at some point. But guess what.. he wouldn't listen. *sigh*

Sorry about my rage, but I really needed to vent after seeing this horrid piece of %*!*#%
Did they actually WANT the viewer to hate this douche? And if so, WHY?

robbing banks is the only "normal" think he does, in everything else he is a total douche, the worst part, when he lets the other jumper in a war zone

The stupid have one thing in common.They alter the facts to fit their views not the other way

I totally concur. The main character has pretty much, no redeeming characteristics/values. Why should we care about this dude?

Samuel Jackson is like, the good guy.

There is something seriously wrong with you people if, despite all of the main characters crappy personality traits, you really believed the kid deserved to die. He was robbing banks, not raping children and murdering people...like Sam L. Jackson's character was, sans the rape. Both characters were douche bags, but the Paladin character was murdering children because he is a nutjob aka religious zealot. Killing kids in the name of God with no remorse and amped vigor like a true psychopath.

I agree with you guys. I couldn't tell if it was the bad acting or writing (probably both),but this was terrible.

I was hoping his mom would have slid a knife slowly into his kidney at the end during their 12 second reunion.
