Is there a worse book to movie adaptation? Name one.

There may very well be worse adaptations than "Jumper," but I think "Jumper" is certainly one of the worst I've seen. Aside from maybe one or two bits, the film has nothing to do with the book. And why did they have to turn Davy Rice into such a jerk for the film? He was far more sympathetic in the novel.

As for a worse adaptation, I'd say "The Black Dahlia" was worse than "Jumper." But just barely.

Well this is a year later but I'd say Cowboys and Aliens which hardly followed the book.

Starship Troopers. The screenwriter didn't even read the book.

Well, the movie wasn't actually based on the book, so he didn't need to. They had an unrelated script and they just needed a name that people knew so they slapped the name "Starship Troopers" on it even though it was a different story. Blame the producers.
