Symbolic passing on of Sams cardy to new girl?

Sorry if I am overanalysing but I wonder if Scout picking up Sams cardigan/jumper was meant to show her as the new Sam? It's just that they have brought Denzel into the story a bit more now and then Emily is being featured again so I wondered if they are trying to form a new group?

Honestly, I think that might be giving the writers a little too much credit, but it's a nice idea. Scout seems interesting, and I'm looking forward to seeing her character develop. I especially like the To Kill a Mockingbird thing.

I know I probably am lol but it sounded good. Which To Kill A Mockingbird bit?

I was thinking the my-name's-_____-but-call-me-'Scout'-instead thing was a Mockingbird reference. Plus, she's seemingly quite tomboy-ish and also way beyond her years as far as intelligence goes, apparently.

Oh yes I forgot that the Mockingbird was called Scout

I don't think they were trying to pass Scout as the new Same. But they're defintely forming a new group, as most of the main charaters are in sixth form now.
