Is this show homophobic?

I've read that it had lesbian character that at one point some pervy guy started hitting on, telling her that he'll turn her, which happened apparently as she fell for it and had lusty sexual encounter with him. Is this true?

Yes, that was one of the story lines, but I wouldn't say the show's homophobic. The man stalked the woman and they only kissed when the lesbian's relationship broke down, so she was caught at a weak moment.

She had a daughter from a marriage and the guy she kissed was another teacher that was attracted to her (albeit he was very sure of his good looks and charm ). She seemed "bi-sexual" or confusd at best.. She had already had a daughter and found herself attracted to a beautiful woman who was also attracted to her. She kissed her male teacher friend back several times and was in no way taken advantage of in the connection. He was a Cad however and Nikki could see that he would never stay with her alone so she returned on her knees to the relative safety of the lesbian relationship.
The show deals with homosexual issues involving Tom's son and he does get teased by the other children. He is also portrayed as being mentally ill and having psychotic breaks. I wouldn't say that the show is homophobic. It is a shallow, unrealistic portrayal of shenanigans by teachers and students in a school... Season 10 will be the last and in the last 10 episodes there will probably be a couple social issues briefly touched but don't expect anything deep from this type show.
