I trust you're being sarcastic in calling Weddings Crashers a comedic masterpiece.

reply

Well I believe it actually is! Every genre has their masterpiece/s and I believe Wedding Crashers is the silly comedy masterpiece. It's not like Dr Strangelove or anything, which can be called a masterpiece comedy or not. But I loved Wedding Crashers! Every minute up until the very end was hilarious and it was very well directed.

I wish I shared your enthusiasm for it - I was a bit disappointed by it & I'd been looking forward to it :\

I loved Wedding Crashers and hated this movie.

I barely made it through the first 7 minutes while they were kids. I had to shut it off when the kid climbed through the window and was drinking milk.

This was on the $4.50 or $5.50 rack at Target and the wife picked up this crap. I hope she used a bag like dog owners do, because this thing stank!

I kept waiting for it to get better, but 12-17 minutes is a long time to wait for something to get good.

VV has very little range to begin with, so his "character" didn't work in the time I gave it.

It gets better as it goes along. It's not a great movie, but it has some good moments, and one great one (the "Silent Night" sequence, from the scene in the bar to the scene at the snow globe). I was at first disappointed because I wanted a Vicne Vaughn laugh-fest, and it never is as funny as many of his other movies. But it turns out to be something different, and in some ways better than just a "laff-riot." And Giamatti is very good as Santa Claus.

Good job you gave it a really fair effort :S

"12-17 minutes is a long time to wait for something to get good." Give me a break. You watched 15 minutes (at best) and you think you're in a position to render a judgement on the movie as a whole? Just admit you're not VV's biggest fan nor a fan of fairytales.

This movie is not without flaws, but I think it definitely has some nice touches and good performances from some very talented actors even in small parts (e.g., Kathy Bates). It gets bogged down a bit in the second act, but overall I thought it was entertaining. It's not a raucous laugh riot like "Wedding Crashers" or "Dodgeball" but it's not supposed to be. I think it's genuinely amusing and touching with a good message. It's better than some other Chistmas movies like "Christmas Vacation" that's inexplicably become a staple. I thought the special effects were surprisingly good for the film's budget. And it was directed by the same guy that directed "Wedding Crashers."

Nobody in the history of mankind has ever been helped out by someone sharing their opinion of a movie they only watched 7 minutes of. Ever.
