So glad I didn't listen to the IMDB boards on this one
I was drifting around for a decent Christmas movie to watch. I'm burnt out on A Christmas Story and I had just watched Elf recently. I'm a big fan of Vince Vaughn so I wandered over onto this IMDB board and read countless negative things about it.
Well I watched it anyway and was really glad I did. It was a solid and fun holiday movie that wasn't near as cheesy or bad as most revered Christmas flicks. Giamitti surprised the crap out of me and played a heckuva Santa. Vince Vaughn was likable even as a bad guy, Kevin Spacey was excellent, and Elizabeth Banks was...yowza. Hot hot hot.
Fun family movie with a hint of adult humor.
I liked it and I find the "1/10 star: equivalent to a lump of coal in your stocking" review on the main page entirely misleading. I'd give it a solid C+/B- for just being fun and it's own flick.
For what it was it didn't feel trite, cliche, or tired. I had fun.

I swear to shake it up if you swear to listen.
