Was Elizabeth Banks too scantily dressed for a PG movie?

Hey, I didn't think so, but are there those who do? (or do you think she was overdressed...ho, ho, ho)

Why do you think she is in this movie and doesn't do anything?

She is scantily dressed because she is eye candy for adult males.

reply

Yeah she was, and that was the entire point of her being there, since she really wasn't of any value to the movie whatsoever. No offense to her, I'm sure she's a good actress when she gets some lines to say, but her completely unnecessary presence there is one of the reasons this movie is so asinine.

reply

Hey, there might have been a subtle reason for her being in the movie...she was Santa's assiistant and maybe Santa isn't all that saintly in all areas of his life...

As for me, I'm looking forward to the DVD release so I can refresh my memory of her appearance in the movie.

Actually if you would have payed attention you would know that her part in the movie was being the Love interest of Willie, who spend the entire movie learning from Fred about impressing women so that (Spoiler)

He have the confidence to get her at the end of the movie. Sure she didn't have many lines but she did in fact have a purpose.

Trainscrreen, I really doubt very many of us guys truly found any problems with her costume.

she was the only reason i kept this dvd playing...she made the movie in that santas little helper outfit!

reply

She helped, but this was the 2nd time I've watched this and and all the little touches that I missed the first time kept me going along with the reaction from the others watching it with me.

This movie made no sense. It was obviously too silly and uncarefully crafted to be taken seriously (or at least respected as a light movie), yet it's not FUN and goofy enough to be an enjoyable kids movie.

Well, I and most of my movie group thoroughly enjoyed it and I especially got a lot out of it that I missed the first time around. I suspect that in a few years, it will be a minor classic, not up to IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE, MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET, A CHRISTMAS STORY, etc., but there probably will be a number of people who have it on their yearly viewing list. It defintely had its moments for me. It didn't so much last year, but this year it did.
