Slam seemed like a pretty good kid who'd just been thru a lot & may of had a bit of an attitude. It just seemed really unfair that he got put @ the top of the naughty list for repeating what Fred said to him @ the beginning of the movie & getting into the fight,
shareexactly, that's the point of Fred's speech to Santa. There are no bad kids. Yea there might be like 1 in a million that is some psychopath serial killer, but labeling a kid a troublemaker is a very bad thing to do. Like Clyde was bullied a lot and then got labeled a troublemaker for lashing out on others. He was stil just a kid wanting a simple gift but had to feel like he was bad or no good and didn't get it.
shareI think it was because of the negative impact that speech may have had on the other kids, he basically tells them to not believe in Santa Clause and they're "drinking the Koolade" if they do.
