So At the end of the film they show him open his eyes and not far from his board... so he's not dead...so what happens to him??

They left it open for the possibility of making a movie with him. That was the reason why he survives. There is a script going around with a current release date for some time in 2012.
In the comics, I think he is exiled to Earth. But he is not on Earth. So....
