I have one question

Hi, I just saw it again and there was one thing I didn't really get. I hope one of you might be able to explain:

1: when Silver Surfer sets off to battle Galactus, we see that Johnny is hanging on to his board and i remember he says that he would like to help (or perhaps something else?)... And shortly after he passes out because of the vacuum of space (which we learned earlier he would). So my question is what was it that Johnny wanted or did?

When I write this I realise that he perhaps wanted to boost Silvers speed! Which is ridicules as we know Silver to be able to fly at cosmic speeds ... but of cause Johnny didn't know.

The Surfer was having trouble against the forces being exerted by Galactus [maybe he was still weak, been a while since I saw it] so the Torch was giving him an extra boost...

I think it was also a way of HT saying "hey buddy, go get em!!". We see earlier that HT had some issues with SS defeating him soo easily. So I guess he had come to grips with it and decided to show some support. Kinda like a little kid with his toy shovel helping his dad dig a hole. He was showing that he would do whatever he could to help. Besides, SS just went through an ordeal being stripped of his powers, trotured, and then feeling all the emotions he lost...not to mention having to travel against the current of the World Ship. So needless to say he needed all the help he could get from his new friends...

Thanx for the inputs. Regardless a little bit strangely filmed or told in the movie, but your points hold. From the movie makers point of view, I think (in retrospect) that they simply needed him to touch the Silver Surfer at this point in the movie in order to regain his power to normal(read: remove this power shifting thing). And his notch was the best they could think of.
