Namor

In a way I'm a little disappointed that they had to reboot this and we didn't get a third movie out of the franchise. Mainly becaues of that scene near the end where Doom is thrown into the water. I always thought that meant they were going to bring in the Sub-Mariner for the next film, which I thought would be pretty cool.

Although it might be a little too much like the second movie, in that they would be setting up another possible spinoff character. But if you look at the comics, back in the 60s the Fantastic Four launched several spinoffs, so it kind of keeps in tradition. For example, Namor, Warlock, the Surfer, and the Inhumans off the top of my head.

Maybe they should have gone with the Sub-Mariner for the second movie, actually, since they didn't have the guts to depict the Galactus story the way it should have been. The love triangle thing might have been interesting.

I never thought of that. But it seems like it woulda been the go to for the sequel instead of galactus. Which IMO, is more of a 3rd movie of an idea.

But yea, cool idea.

Fox does not own the rights to Namor, Inhumans, Warlock, the Black Panther, etc. - so those are all off limits. They might have been able to do a version of the Frightful Four but without Sandman and possibly Medusa...

I'm not sure what studio actually has the 'rights' to the Namor character, but I think he would fit nicely into the MCU. He has ties to Captain American through the Defenders back in WWII, and was a long time member of the Avengers. Many storylines could be taken from the Sub-Mariner and Avengers comics that featured him. Phase 4 character maybe? I think they need to release it before DC does Aquaman, though.

Ooops, meant to type 'Invaders' instead of the Defenders in the previous post.
