What's your take... Why does time always re-set (the girl appears back in the car with the guy) when the cop ghost is beaten away???

events that happened on that spot since the 1950's including the murder of
the priests and running the teenage boys off the road - i was pleased to
read the most recent smart review of this film, and to know that there
