Its called carpooling. Not everyone can take a car to college... soo you get a ride with kids who live near you.. Its really not a big deal.

maybe decent performance by the lead girl but movie overall was boring and slow, and unbelievable.

I quite liked this film. I suppose the fact that young kids are calling this boring and uneventful tells us exactly why all these inferior remakes are so successful whilst original stories, carefully crafted like this one, are virtually ignored.
shareI too like this film. The acting and writing are strong. This movie does not rely on special effects or CGI material...it is not eye candy, it is a dialogue driven movie and I think it is beautifully done. Bravo! I would love to see more films like this.

Do you suppose that the people who are calling this film dumb are too add, emotionally stunted, and themselves dumb to grasp the subtleties and emotion at work in this film? That's my theory.

Here's a theory: people who say others are dumb because they don't like certain movies are themselves pretty extraordinarily dumb.
The movie is okay in parts, highly unbelievable was not referring to the ghost story, it was referring to the whole situation of how they go on the trip, didn't buy it overall.
Of course you wouldn't think so, because surprise .... YOU'RE DUMB!
Nah, I'm only kidding. But I do stand by my belief that the people who call films like this "boring" and "slow" have no attention span and are likely lining the pockets of the producers of current horror remakes. Which is very sad, this film is leagues better than almost any recent remake I can think of.
Do you find the fact that they're traveling together from the ride board far fetched? I admit I did think twice about that too but college kids do things like this ... seems incredibly unsafe to me but that doesn't mean it isn't done.
Yeah, I graduated from college twenty years ago, but our ride board was very active. In fact, I used it a few times to get a four hour ride home from strangers, and I didn't think twice about it. Very common. Though, I certainly can't speak for how common it is today.
