Help me solve the mystery? SPOILERS*

I quite enjoyed the movie. It gave me a pretty good scare and something to think about and try and solve.

One thing I didn't understand though...
What happened to the man (the same one that was looking at the girl in the gas station just before she entered the toilets) - the man that came to rescue the girl and the dead boy?

After he was killed by the ghost of the police... did he die too?
And after the girl woke up from everything that had happened, was he dead?

I'm confused... HELP?

I'm not entirely sure (there are still aspects of the movie I just don't get, even after watching in a few times)...

But, I'm pretty sure that guy was dead. When the cop's ghost grabbed him, he turned to ice and died.

At the very end, they only show one body being taken by the morgue, but I'm sure that guy's still dead... Or, was he a ghost all along?

No, he wasn't a ghost.

I'd just finished watching the film. There were two shots of the van and in both shots, men were carrying or shifting a black bag in. It doesn't show in the second shot if it was the same body bag.

What *I* don't get is, each time the police officer ghost mishandled Girl, why wasn't she affected by his ability to cause instant hypothermia? :/

I was wondering what happened to the guy. So he died, but he came back to relive the moment like that theory whatever they were talking about in the beginning? and lead her to safety?

And speaking of that gas station scene, what was the purpose of her getting locked in the bathroom? And why weren't they able to hear her shouting for help to get out the bathroom? I never understood the purpose of that, especially when minutes later she could get out.

I agreed. It actually got me thinking that maybe it was a literal "ghost town" and that Boy was a ghost all along, but apparently not. :/

i thought that the reason why they (ashton and the petrol guy) didnt hear her was cos they were ghosts, which is the significance of him saying stay on the freeway, as the petrol guy knew what would happen if they went off road. the look that ashton gave him as they left was a knowing look as if to say well im taking her anyway - as if they both knew all allong..

None of the ghost stuff actually happened. The petrol station guy was real but never came to the car in his tow truck--Girl imagined all of that.

The only person who actually died in the film is Guy. That's his body at that end. The Girl was dreaming in the backseat of the car and Guy died of hypothermia and/or his injuries in the front seat. She wakes up in the morning, for the first time actually, and finds him.

He met the same fate the others met: instant hypothermia, caused by the police officer ghost's supernatural ability.

When or if he was found by a rescue team later, they will assume he died of (natural) hypothermia. Like they had assumed about the others' deaths. There's no way they would even guess it was a ghost caused their deaths through instant hypothermia.

Yes.

And after the girl woke up from everything that had happened, was he dead?

Yes.
