they are all stuck in a reoccuring loop thingy, but this time the events change, thereby breaking the loop. the guy knows they are stuck in the loop, the girl doesn't, so he helps her break out of it because he cares for her.
i know the reoccuring time loop thing is different than the reoccuring thing they were actually talking about in the movie, but it is fun to think about

didn't he say when he helped her outta the car that he had done that sort of thing before??? i can't remember.

also the Roman Catholic overtones makes me think of a purgatory situation...but that would be a misinterpritation of Catholic dogma/doctrine.

well, i am glad i don't believe that the dead come back, lol.

i am thinking he does not realize it until they have already crashed sometime

and i am talking about the time at the gas station when he piggy backs her...so nasty to be bare foot on that gas station floor...especially in the bathroom
