Those who saw the movie; did you find the guy to be romantic or creepy?

SPOILERS if you didn't see it:

I thought he was kind of both. Ha, it was romantic the way he went about getting her to go with him and all. Getting her her fave foods, etc. Carrying her into the gas station so her painted toenails wouldn't get messed up. Giving her some of his clothes to wear. etc...

The creepy part to those things was how did he know what her fave foods were?! I mean those are very specific things! And he said she looked better in her glasses and she said she never wore them out of her dorm so wtf? Was he watching/spying/stalking her that badly? It's cute to a point but then its like- how do you know this stuff about me!? What do you think?

I also thought he was both, but purposely written that way. At first you like him, then, as he tells his story, you're less sympathetic because you realize there's is something not quite right with him. As the story unfolds you again become sympathetic because he is revealed as just another guy on the make with a gal he's got a crush on. When it's obvious he isn't going to live you're firmly on his side. A bit heavy-handed as plots go but not unwelcome.

A nice twist would have been to reveal him as just another ghost albeit one sent to resolve the injustice of the gruesome crimes. When she looks at the cell phone photo it shouldn't have shown his picture. That would have been creepy.

Relax precious, you're not really that important to be stalked like the girl in the movie was.

So yeah, dream on.

That was me being nasty.

I'm actually quite more of a gentler person then I appear to be on the net.
Once you get to know me, that is.

That's probably the case with most of us.

People are annoying in real life as hell.
You can't just make a conversation in a club without somebody pointing out that you're a dick intervening on somebody's turf.

Dicks are those who accuse, not the accused, says I.

He stalked her enough to know her favorite foods, that she wore glasses (only in her dorm!), where she lived... he sat behind her in class and read her phone. He lied to her and tricked her into the ride to Delaware. He took a random "shortcut" that got them into the accident situation. He might have been a sweet guy but he was hella creepy. All of that put together = the guy was a mental case.

More romantic than creepy. He's completely on the surface, which makes him a lot more trustworthy than his hostile passenger, who is boiling with contempt.

This movie tries to make him look like a nice guy. But in the real world a guy like that would throw her in a hole and have her lotion up her skin.
