would've been perfect if not for the ending.

Seriously, i hate when movies try to tell you what to think about them. i think the scene where old nemo explains how its actually just in the mind of the child whos trying to make a choice shouldve been left out.

Yep. The whole movie was amazing. The visuals alone were spectacular. I liked the whole oddness of it. The way the plot line was played out. Even with me being slightly confused for about 30 minutes in I wasn't bored at all. I didn't stay confused though. Jared was doing some of his best acting ever. All of the actresses with him were perfect as well But my favorite storyline had to be Anna though (Diane Kruger/Juno Temple). The young actors playing Nemo were brilliant too... maybe more so than Jared. I was just very disappointed in the ending. Almost like the last 25,30 minutes they didn't know what to do to end it properly to keep of the exciting and interesting pace like the rest of the movie. I honestly hate when that happens. I was actually pissed. Jared is really such a good actor so he was kind of wasted in the end in my opinion.

The ending reminded me of "The Never Ending Story".

I completely agree. Before the ending I was just telling my brother how this could end up being one of my favorite movies, but that ending spoiled a lot of my enjoyment.
The ending was a rushed over explanation that ruined a lot of the mystery set up in the film. There was no need to explain anything.

They could have ended it any other way, or just ended it mid sentence and I would have loved it. Any ending but what they did. It didn't NEED an ending.

If you're referring to the ending as "anything", ok, but I need an explanation of why his father was f'd up at one point. That made no sense at all. I get it, sh!t happens, but they showed a scene where a woman gets ran over accidentally by a car, but not explain why he (the dad) was the way he was in such a short period of time? I wasn't sure if he had an accident, or some form of Alzheimer.

Open ended movies are just a cop out for lazy scriptwriters that can't think of an ending. You should be glad this movie actually explains what was going on.

No.

It is the lazy or insecure scriptwriter who feels they have to explain everything because: 1) their narrative was weak to begin with; 2) they're worried no one will get it if it's "art"; 3) the producers are worried the movie will flop because their target market is pablum eaters; 4) art and innovation are not formulas for box office hit$.

Watch "Adaptation".

Same thing for me. I really enjoyed the film but the ending lessened my appreciation.

It was a bit ironic. Nemo's character remarks about choice and by not choosing, the possibilities are endless. By having an ending that tries to explain the whole movie, the film makers "made a choice". If they did not choose an explanation, "the possibilities were endless" and would have fitted each viewer's interpretation of the movie.

but nemo made a choice too, no? he chose anna. i think that is why everything goes backward, he's finally ready to make his choice? idk
