to girls in the same post? Whew! Lucille....she lasted until the very end.

reply

I called them Sharpe Girls because women in Bond films are generally called Bond Girls, and I felt like stealing it. But Sharpe's Women seemed a better title than Sharpe's Girls to me.

reply

Top three

1. Ellie Nugent in Gold

2. Lady Farthingdale in Enemy

3. Teresa (Rifles-Enemy)

reply

Three 'single episode' women:

1. La Marquessa (Sharpe's Honour)
2. Lass (Sharpe's Sword)
3. Lady Farthindale (Sharpe's Enemy)

reply

You have fabulous taste in heroines. I place Teresa Moreno first, and then Ellie Nugent (why
did he never take up her invitation to Ireland, and then Lay Farthingale.

My favourites are

1. Teresa
2. Elle
3. Lucille
4. Lass
5. Lady Fathingdale (Josefina, in the books)
6. Celia

I used to like Jane's character in the books and the early TV episodes, siege for example, but I hate the fact that she transforms into such a Biatch by the time of Waterloo. however you knew by Mission that their relationship was not going to last. I do imagine horrible deaths for her thanks to fleeing frenchman, I have it taking place moments after Waterloo ends.

mine :

1.La Marquessa ( in the books she appears more)
a.k.a the w*ore of gold
2.Teresa a.k.a the needle (cant remeber the spanish spelling so make do with english)
3.Astrid (the one book wonder till she and her father got whacked)

jane was an evil cow at the end , i wonder did sharpe ever get divorced? cos in devil its mentioned there still maried , and in challenge lucille (exscuse spellin) is dead ( but cornwall didnt like that) and one of kids goes to become a soldier in another book ( star buck )

reply

1.) Celia Burrows (your right she is a goddess)
2.)Lass
3.) Lucille

reply

Definitely Lass and Lucille, I absolutely hated Ellie Nugent!

Twelve times did the iron register of time beat on the sonorous bell metal

reply

Celia Burrows was the second biggest bitch of the Sharpe series (we all know who the biggest one was). And for the record, the girl in the newest Sharpe was the third biggest (what is it with nice girls disappearing from Sharpe?)

I personally liked Lady Farthingdale, Ellie (her accent was especially lilting), and Lucille ('cause her personality overrides Jane's good looks any day).

reply

Teresa. The first one. I hated it when she was killed. It was the best episode, and also the worst one because the sergeant killed her.
