Why did they stick the needle in his neck near the end of the movie

in the hotel lindo lindt when the chinese mafia shows up on the rooftop. Was it the antedote?

I just watched and was wondering the same thing. I think it was a second dose of the poison. As obviously the first one was not working, I think they wanted to make doubly sure he died. If anyone has an alternative explanation, don't hesitate to let us know. :)

Here is my crazy theory. Maybe when Carlito pulls out the syringe and says "It's the Chinese sh#t." but maybe Carlito was just saying that to trick his henchmen and Ricky Verona. At the middle beginning of the movie, Carlito says that everyone knew the love Carlito had for Chev. So it would be crazy if Carlito "loved" him one more time by giving him the cure. The antidote.

There was no antidote to the poison. It was obvious Verona injected him with more poison.

What! Watch again. Did you fall asleep before the end?
Verona injects Chev in the neck at the helicopter on the roof.
Now ask yourself,would he be giving him the antidote?
Oh,and by the way,it was clearly established that there was no antidote.

Verona thought it was the Chinese Sh*t because Carlito said it was the Chinese Sh*t.
Shortly after being injected, Chev snaps out of it and is full of energy.
So ..... Carlito was toying with them, it was the antidote!
