Begins to die midway due to artsy-fartsy director on peyote

Yep, starts out excellent, slowly but surely peters out due to the director wanting to turn it into some sort of metaphysical/spiritual/psychedlic experience.

thank you, that's exactly how i felt. 2/3 of the movie were great, but as soon as it reached the scene at the watering hole, with wes studi, i knew something was wrong, and sure enough it turned artsy or whatever you want to call it, and the ending was crap, which is a shame because i thought it was going to be a solid western. the ending ruined it, and i could never recommend this to anyone i know. the folks who made this movie are screwing themselves because the very people who would like to watch a good western are the same people who are going to be very pissed off with an artsy ending, i should know, i'm one of them.

Yeah, I agree. I think the writers should have drank a few bottles of that elixir or whatever the hell it was that Angelica Huston's character was peddling. You know, the stuff that "cleanses the blood, exonerates the bowels." Methinks if the writers hadn'ta been so full of S#!T this movie might have come across as a much better Western/revenge tale.

The last few seconds where he discards his Bowie knife.... yeeesh. What crap!
