Hallmark???

I just watched this incredible film and here i am thinking this film its from the 1970s or something and it has two great actors when they were younger, they probably made this film early in their careers and its on the hallmark channel only to find out that its only 1 year old. why the hell isnt it more famous and why the hell is it on the hallmark channel?

Suffering? You Haven't Seen Anything Yet!

I also just watched this on Hallmark, and had EXACTLY the same reaction you had. I've never even seen the video or DVD in any of the rental stores. I do, however, have a quick question (which might have been answered by another post). I missed the first half hour. Was there anything I needed to see or know? I sort of deduced from the other post that it pretty much was Neeson chasing after Brosnan; but I'd still like to know what happened in that first half hour. Wanna take a minute to tell me?

Essentially, it starts where Pierce Brosnan's character was out in the mountains, in thick forest, and he was dressed in a thick bearskin coat and had other items that made him seem to be a rugged mountain-man/trapper sort of guy (this included the huge Bowie knife that figured so prominently throughout the film). He was using flint stone to spark and build a fire, which, once it got started, he used for roasting a small animal (presumably something he had caught).

Then some really mean-looking guys, lead by Liam Neeson, who apparently had been tracking him, spotted him and opened fire on him from a distance. Brosnan got shot in the arm, then took off running into the forest so as to evade these guys, and eventually, after slip-sliding and crashing his way down the mountain, came upon the bank of a rushing river, which he tried to ford by shinnying across a tree trunk that had fallen across the river. But after making it out only a few feet, his bullet-wounded arm gave out on him, and he fell into the river. He struggled in the river (which was deep, fast, and COLD) for a good while, even plummeting over a steep waterfall. He was able to tear off his thick bearskin coat while in the water (it appeared to be dragging him down, and nearly drowned him).

The group of men were still after him. Brosnan eventually climbed out of the river, found a small clearing, again made a fire, somehow got warm enough to survive the cold, and then used his Bowie knife to extract the bullet from his arm.

The men who were chasing him started moving in on his location, but Brosnan was able to elude them, and even killed two of them (one by dropping the Bowie knife on his head while he (Brosnan) was up hiding in a tree, and the other by rigging a steel bear trap into an improvised spring trap made of green tree branches).

Then he took off again, and eventually made it to a small cabin occupied by a girl, a boy (her brother) and later, their father who had been out trapping and who came home, wondering what the hell Brosnan was doing there (figured he was no doubt a horse thief). Liam Neeson and his men are still in pursuit, and not far behind. Brosnan buys the horse of the people in the cabin, and eventually takes off, hoping to elude the men tracking him.

I'm assuming you are up to speed here, as I think I actually went past the half-hour mark. Hope this helps!
