This film is a masterpiece
I think that this film is hugely underrated. The wonderful thing about it is that it can be watched as a "normal" western but it has so much deep meaning.
For example, if you don't like Angelica Houston's character because you don't like the allegorical side of the film, then it is possible to reason that the heat has made them hallucinate her. You could ask how did Liam Neeson get the gun, but it is possible that he found the gun lying on thr ground and hallucinated being given it.
Or if you want to you can think that she actually is there.
Everything in this film can be seen on a deeper level, and it's a shame it wasn't as critically lauded as it should have been.
