I liked the bit...SPOILERS!
....when Brosnan leaps out the horses belly to ambush Hayes. I haven't seen that in a movie before...

shareNeither had I. Very inventive if i must say so.
"Now go home and get your *beep* shine box" - Goodfellas (1990)
Yeah, that was one of the coolest moments in a movie. It had a different surprise effect for me though. I had already heard about Bear Grylls ("survivalist") sleeping in a deer's (or some such animal) stomach to survive in one episode of his survival show. So, when I saw that in the movie I was going "hey! that's that Bear thing!"
Now that I think about it, it's funny that that can be used as a hiding place for surprise attack. It's even more amusing that Bear Grylls used it for survival while Gideon used it for the opposite, and yet, not quite the opposite, because he also did it to survive.
Luke Skywalker did it first
sharein the swedish movie "The New land" 1972 by Jan Troell an ox is slaughtered and a boy sheltered in it to survive a snow storm... based on the book by Vilhelm Moberg (1950:s)
shareOk, not first. But do you think Lucas saw this movie or read the book. Who knows, but I'd say it much more likely, this movie's scene was inspired, consciously or not, by the Star Wars imagery.
On the trivia front I'll give you points for obscurity (at least to an American) and will try to find the film. Sounds interesting enough, as I do love a good foreign film and have enjoyed a couple of Swedish films/TV shows in the past, though specific titles elude me at the moment.

I hid in Buffalo (NY) for a while, but from society, not from a grassfire. ;-)
I appreciate the suggestions.
Thanks.
