Don't know about the unrated version. Yes it is really worth buying not only because you get a different perspective on a smaller screen but all the additional excellent documentaries about the making of Rogue. Enjoy
It's unrated because whoever rates movies was too busy and this movie wasn't worth their time.
The DVD cover made me think this was going to be a very bloody and gory movie. I'm glad it wasn't TOO gory to the point of ridiculousness, cause that's not why I'm interested.
I just watched the unrated version and aside from dialogue I didn't see any additional gore, but c'mon nothing really happened with the croc in this film until the final scene.
I'm kind of growing to hate this movie. Once it's over you realize that nothing happened. With as much of this film filled with dialouge, you would expect to become much more acquainted with the characters and that never happens. Having cancer doesn't make you a fleshed out character, nor does being a widower or being a smoker, or even being a tour guide with an ex boyfriend. And the croc looks much more like an alligator than a salt water crocodile. The cgi is just a notch above SciFi channel status. The croc has good texture, but the overall design is way off.
-I dont know why its unrated, I watched the unrated version and there's barely any blood/gore at all, the FEW people who are eaten you hardly see anything or its at night and in the darkness, for an unrated version it seemed like an ordinary R movie, less so even.
more swearing...that is how it usually is when it says unrated. i have noticed this on most of the unrated films i buy....they have more swear words or there are subtle changes in the film. i notcied this the other day on HBO. i was watching a movie i own on dvd that is unrated. and the charcters line in the movie was a little different from what i had seen on the dvd...however unfortuneately i cannot remember what movie it was this was on...but yeah it is usually a little more to the dialogue...sometimes more nudity but that is very rare, and most likely more blood but it makes the film look ridiculous sometimes.
Primeval was terrible. Lake Placid I liked alot and have not seen Black Water. I do admit that I am not familiar enough with Alligators/crocs to make a comparison but the CGI in this film looked awesome and very real.
You're complaining about the croc in this movie, yet you don't have a problem about the ridiculous way the croc in Primeval turns and runs, because crocs do not and cannot move like that. And the CGI in Primeval is worse than the CGI in this movie.
