Very Good Croc Horror Movie - UK and US film distributors are stupid

Considering all the crap that gets released in the cinema in the UK and US (Disaster Movie anyone?), why on earth did this film completely disappear? Not only is it a good solid scary horror movie - which you might not imagine given that the monster is 'just' a crocodile - but it was directed by a director with a recent global hit.

I was really looking forward to Michael Vartan's first post-Alias big screen outing (shot during Season 5) and I was very disappointed that the film never got released, especially considering Radha Mitchell was in the cast, an actress with a number of excellent films under her belt (Pitch Black and Marc 'Quantum of Solace' Foster's Finding Neverland).

And it isn't even on a region 2 DVD release in the UK. Rubbish.

I throughly enjoyed this film and would give it a good solid 3 stars if I was an Empire magazine reviewer. I loved the little character asides with the widower releasing his wife's ashes into the water, and the excellent death of the stupid English dad who got eaten after breaking the rope bridge. Also bravo for the amazing landscapes of outback Australia - quite beautiful and not what I was expecting from a 'crocodile horror movie'.

Michael Vartan looked hot as ever and I was really hoping he would take off his shirt after getting bitten to wrap up his hand. But d amn no such luck. :D. Hopefully his current project Demoted will yield more success for the Alias star. See this link on Empire for further details:

Good luck with the DVD sales Rogue - you deserve more than you got.

ITA, Rogue (the filmmakers, including actors) deserved better. This is an excellent croc creature feature!! I was so excited to see Vartan play the role of reluctant hero. My favorite moment is when he makes the decision that it's going to be him or the croc. You can find screen caps from the DVD, including extras, at Vartan-web.com

The Region 3 DVD was released 9/19/2008 for those interested:
