How long was this croc ?

I liked Rogue, but thought that the CGI-Croc was so big it was too unrealistic. Actually my favourite scenes are those where you don`t see the croc. So my question: How big was the CGI croc actually intended to be - 6, 7, 8 m ???

On one of the making of docs on the DVD they said their crocodile was 7.2 metres long, and currently, at the time of filming anyway, there was a 7.5 metre crocdile loose which had been sighted, so the size was realistic, however not common, which I think the movie suggested anyway.

I have an eternal hope.

Watch closely when the camera zooms into the newspaper article, sporting Michael Vartan's photo, at the end of the movie. According to the text there, the croc was 7m long.

I know this question is very very old but anyway. First, don't believe what the posters above said, the largest measured salty is 6.4m and thought it is possible that 7m ones exist or existed they've never been measured so its impossible to confirm such claims. Now, back to the one in the movie, it's kind of hard to answer as the croc seemed to change size and proportions through out the movie, when its killed, it's skull looked like 1m long or so, indicating a croc around 8-9m, and the head looked "small" compared to the body, ditto when it has the hero trapped, but is most others scenes the head was comically huge (and too broad and tall, more like that of an American alligator)in proportion to the body, in this scenes the head looked easily 2m long which would mean a croc up to 18m but the head was disproportionally big in this shots so its actually smaller, maybe around 10m as we can see that is around 1m or so tall at the back.

I know your reply is very very old but actually the largest every croc killed or caught was over 8 metres: http://www.theaustralian.com.au/news/inquirer/death-of-a-monster/story-e6frg6z6-1111118162303

That's pretty much a fish story, as can be read in Britton et al. (2012)"Here be a Dragon: Exceptional Size in a Saltwater Crocodile (Crocodylus porosus) from the Philippines"

Another famous giant crocodile shot on the Norman River in Australia in 1957 was reported by the shooters to be over 8 m (approx. 26 ft). While it seems likely that an exceptionally large crocodile was shot, no actual evidence was ever taken. For a crocodile whose length exceeds that of any other record by a large margin, a high degree of skepticism is understandable when bearing in mind the track record of inaccurate or exaggerated size records (Greer 1974; Whitaker and Whitaker 2008).

Also, an update of my previous comment, the longest actually measured crocodile was Lolong but it wasn't 6.4m as I said 4 years ago but 6.17m.

kouprey is correct. The newspaper article at the end of the movie states 7 metres.
