is anybody watching this on PBS?

PBS has been running this show for a few months and I've been recording it. I have 11 episodes saved so far and I know there are 22. I haven't actually watched it yet because I missed the first 3 or 4 episodes and wanted to watch straight through from beginning to end, so I'm hoping that after they play the finale, they will start over. Does anyone know if this is the plan? Also, would you be able to tell me which episode we're up to? It's so hard to figure out when the episodes don't have titles.

Last thing. I watched the ABC American version and really liked it, that's why I'm interested in watching the original. Do you think I'll even like it? I feel kind of silly saving up all these episodes to have a marathon of a show I've never even seen. I like MI-5 (Spooks) and other British shows. Basically my question is, it is a good show, right?

I'm in Kansas City, and on April 29th, it will be ep 2x06. No idea if they plan on replaying it. Don't typically watch PBS because I've had issues in the past trying to keep track of some of the stuff I watched on there.

As for liking the UK version, it is really up in the air. Remember there were many people on the boards when the US version was airing that loved the original and hated the remake. Likewise there were people that saw the original second, and wound up hating the original. Personally found the US version much more light hearted than the UK version. The US version was really cleaned up and more politically correct in comparison to the UK version. Only seen a handful of Spooks eps, so can't compare it much there. Hopes this helps at least a little bit.

I spoke too soon. You have definitely been a big help, but I just realized that there will be no episode on April 29 by me. In NY, they've been playing it on Mondays. The last episode was April 26, so I'm not sure if we're ahead of you or behind. Thank you so much for taking the time to reply though! I'll let you know how I like it when I finally do get around to watching.

Anybody in the NY area been watching on Mondays? If I can start numbering the episodes now, I'll have less confusion later.

Is the PBS station you watch called THIRTEEN or the call letters and numbers WLiW21? That was the PBS station that I found for NY, and according to the ep description for Monday May 3, you're viewing schedule is the same as KC, just run on Monday instead of Thursday. The May 3 ep for the forementioned PBS station is 2x07. May 10th is ep 2x08, the series finale. With any luck this might be of some more help!

There are only 16 episodes.

Elvira mistress of the dark is the coolest woman ever.
DCI Gene Hunt (UK) coolest man ever.

Oh crap, you're right. I'm just gonna have to pick a random episode to start watching, try to figure out which one it is and go from there.

Something that might be easier, the dvds are available in region 1 format, and just checked and netflix does have them. Since you're planning a marathon watch, seeing if you can somehow rent them might be easier. Have also noticed that my PBS station at the very least has made a couple clips here and there. It hasn't been anything major, but there were some great character building things that got edited.

Oh that's right: Most PBS stations bleep and censor some things nowadays. This show deserves to have every second of it enjoyed intact!

I found the entire 16 episode series on eBay a year ago for less than $20 in Region 2 format. My cheap DVD player plays all regions of discs.

Missed 1x04 when they were showing it, and that was one of the main ones I wanted to see how they edited. The other one is the finale. What really is irritating is everytime someone says sh!t they bleep it, but in 2x06 where Gene says something about Liberache's dick, they let it through. I don't understand how words like b!tch, a$$, etc get through, but sh!t is bleeped.

As for region 2 discs, I've found it was a better investment to buy a hackable dvd player and then get any imported shows from the source instead of buying the region 1. For example, I think it is around $60 US for just season 1 of the UK LOM in region 1 format, and another $60 for season 2. Got both seasons from amazon.uk for I think it was just under $40 US, including shipping.

For the original poster.

You have up to episode 2x06. Disc 4 on Netflix will have the final two episodes if you need them. I was recording them on Mondays as well, but when they didn't repeat the last 2 on friday nights, I had to get the disc. Also, if I remember correctly, the season 2 premier was only shown on Monday as well, so you might want to check if you have it or not (should be easy enough).

I'm so good I don't need a signature.
