I kind of enjoyed Ashes to Ashes, but of course something is lost in terms of originality/newness. And - this is a small thing to be bothered about I suppose, but - what was up with the police station being done up in stylish monochromatic black and white, as if it was a music video set rather than a working police station? That's a rhetorical question, I know in terms of the finale why that and other anachronisms/oddities are justified. But as a viewer it comes off as fake, as is Gene Hunt's slightly new wave attire of skinny white tie and black shirt. What middle-aged policeman is going to be that fashionable.
