Sam uses wrong name at the end

Just finished watching this excellent series. I could be wrong but it seems that Sam makes a mistake in his name at the end when he's back in 2006 and dictating into the tape recorder. He signs off as "DCI Sam TYLER" but didn't Morgan tell him earlier, in the graveyard, that his real name was Sam WILLIAMS -- that Sam TYLER was just a name they gave him for the undercover work -- a name they took from a tombstone. If I'm mistaken, would someone explain? Thanks.

He was Sam Williams in the 1973 world, but in the 2006 world, from the first episode, his name was always Sam Tyler. If 1973 was the fantasy, then so would've been the Williams.

Thanks for your response. So, in 1973, Sam's real name is Sam WILLIAMS, but he is given the undercover name of Sam TYLER, which just happens to be his REAL name in 2006?

***Spoilers***

The great thing about LOM and A2A,is,as others on the board have pointed out, that it is open to so many different interpretations.I do not claim that mine is any better than any other, but for what it is worth,I think that Morgan is like Jim Keats in A2A.He is a "Devil Figure",a liar and a "Temptor",who tries to get Sam to betray his friends and himself and lose his Soul.
I would submit therefore, that pretty much everything he tells Sam is a lie and should be disregarded.
