If what you said is right, I wish they hadn't said that in Ashes to Ashes (which I haven't seen) because it screws up the logic.
If she was murdered by Sam's father that landed her in that world, then there would be nothing Sam could do to save her when the moment comes. If she did survive the attack, thanks to Sam saving her, then she shouldn't be there in the first place because she hadn't died that day. If she was supposed to relive the moment before her death/survival solely for Sam's purpose, such as giving him an opportunity to unblock his memory, then surely her time would be up?
We never got to find out who knocked Sam over, come to think of it. If there were no villain, then it doesn't make sense. Violent death, sure, but it was an accident. So why Sam and others were chosen to put there if the purpose of facing the moment that took their lives isn't the one? Who gets to decide when they could be there and to leave for Heaven? And how?
I'm probably overthinking, but the LoM series leave more questions than answers.
