Travelling back, he could have made a fortune!!

Beside all of the psychological upheaval, being transported back 33yrs, Sam could have made a fortune on the Football Pools?

Once he's accepted this odd fate, why didn't he abuse it?

He wasn't that kind of guy.

With a decent amount of Cash, Sam could have made at killing...Red Rum winning the national and Poland preventing England qualifying for the 1974 World, with a decent amount of money, stick it on as a treble at the bookies and Sam could have been rolling in it

Also, being a football fan, Sam would surely have known that Sunderland pulled off a big upset in the FA Cup Final that year, beating the mighty Leeds...

Make tea, not war.

And the odds were that long on Sunderland to win, you could have made a nice wedge on that...6/1 in a 2 horse race is quite large

He could have made a killing on the boxing matches alone. In 73 Foreman upset Frazier, and in 74 Ali upset Foreman...major upset.

I would have also stick money on Margaret Thatchers rise to power...Gene once said something 'there will never be a woman prime minister as long as i havema hole in myn ar5e'

What would you be doing if you never clicked on this

I don't think making money was on his mind.

And so, God came forth and proclaimed widescreen is the best.

He could have made all the money in the world, because the entire thing was happening in his comatose mind. Heck, he could have actually been a DCI if he wanted to, but the world was obviously very faithfully recreated since he was such a detail oriented cop and his subconscious wouldn't allow for anything too far out there.
