Hegl and Rogan hooking up: not in the real world

I'm surprised that no one here has brought up the topic of the likelihood of these two getting together. Someone as gorgeous as Hegl could have her pick of guys. Rogan just does not seem like the type she'd hook up with, drunk or not. He's not handsome, is slovenly, yes he's funny, but not the kind of guy she could take home. I'd expect her to be pickier, esp since she's in the entertainment industry. Anyone else think this?

I never did get how those two managed to get together.

Its that man again!!

I have to agree. I hate to sound so superficial but the fact of the matter is that the casting of Seth Rogen opposite Kathrine Heigl took a lot away from enjoying this movie. It just didn't have that believability factor.

In real life she would never keep the child. Not because he's fat. Because he's a dimwitted loser who has no money.

In real life she would have to be passed out drunk before he could touch her. A woman as gorgeous as her would at least go for a guy with some ambition.

It's not the drunken hook-up that's unbelievable (it's very plausible and does happen), it's the fact that they magically start falling in love soon after (or decide to try being a couple in the first place).

Yeah , the suspension of disbelief was lost for me as soon as they started to live together. No way that would really happen unless the woman was really principled about a child needing a mom and dad, or had conservative values.

It may have been unusual for HOLLYWOOD but for the real world? Stuff like this happens all the time. There is much much more to people than just their visuals (and even for that there are many different standards and everybody likes different things). Couples hook up for a varity of reasons. And, thankfully, there are still enough people out there that are able and willingly to look beyond the first impression and visual judgment.

If looks are keeping a guy from getting laid then he's the load his mother should have swallowed... Hot women give normal guys a chance all the time that just have to reach out and take it...

I do what I say and I say what I mean

Actually, someone else on this board did bring up the matter of 'plausibility'. It's true that someone in real life with Katherine Heigl's looks would likely go for someone much more of a 'catch' then Seth Rogen's character. But keeping in mind that this was a romantic comedy, and the clear mismatch was part of the humor. It also served as a kind of dramatic tension - can this mismatched couple somehow patch up their differences, and form a family?
