It wouldn't. He probably sells some drugs. And sponges off his friends *a lot*. It was more an anecdote to show that he's clueless, out of touch with reality, and has no plans or money sense. Similar to the fact 4 guys spent a year trying to develop a website without finding out the competition first, whether the site already exists.
They eat a lot of spaguetti.
