If you look at most of the actors in this film, you'll find that this was the first, and probably only, movie they've been in (except for a couple that were on soap operas, or were in maybe one or two other films). So that should answer any questions about the acting abilities in this movie.

Some of the actors did okay. Blame the rest on the producers and director. They approved this stank production. It reeks of stench, and not from the 'horror'

There was just was just way too much overacting going on, as if they were in some crazy comedy. The professor couldn’t even enter a room without hamming it up.
