Did he get the scholarship?

I wouldn't give it to him..

He basically scammed the casino's. Scamming or cheating in general shows as serious lack in integrity, which is regarded highly in the medical world.

I agree and this was always a gripe of mine as well that they hinted @ him getting it. While it gives him a certain type of "life experience", it doesn't carry over into the world of medicine and doesn't exactly scream integrity does it?

reply

When that guy said he wanted to be "dazzled," I somehow don't think that was the kind of dazzling he had in mind. It's the sort of life experience that makes for a fascinating story, but not the kind of thing that makes a candidate deserving of a $300,000 scholarship.

reply

The guy sure looked dazzled.

When I'm gone I would like something to be named after me. A psychiatric disorder, for example.

reply

Counting cards isnt scamming or even cheating. Its skilled play. Hiding money from the IRS is illegal, but I wouldn't call it immoral.

I think the "dazzle me" scenes were unnecessary. Filmmaker used them as bookends, but they seem detached from the main story.

I think Ben had him until he summised "I scored the hottest girl in school", and I think that's the reason for the admissions guy's jaw dropped reaction - as if to say "what are you, 15?!", or "are you a top-of-you-class MIT scholar or a caveman"
Between that and Josh Gad and his friend rating girls out of 10, plus the whitewashing, it's fair to say this hasn't aged well.
