This movie is not racist

I'm sick of seeing threads stating this movie is racist. It is not. First off, most of the African influences are the animals. I don't see a lot of African exhibits aside from that (and the Egyptian exhibit). Speaking of the Egyptian exhibit, I've read a lot of complaints that the Pharaoh was caucasian. Brush up on your history, Egyptian people were of all races. Several pharaohs were light and dark-skinned. You have to remember that Egypt was pretty diverse in a cultural sense.
I also heard that a black guy was "the villain". ALL 3 SECURITY GUARDS were behind it, not just the black security guard. So there were 2 WHITE villains, and one black one. I don't think it matters all that much that one of them happened to be black. I'm not a racist at all, and I feel every individual is capable of being criminals. I just think that one of the security guards being of a different race is silly to infer that he is the big villain.
There weren't a lot of Hispanic influences, I'll admit that was a bit strange, but I don't think it's enough to make this a racist film.
I enjoyed the film, despite some of the plotholes, and I didn't find it racist one bit.
My biggest problem with the story is the fact that there were no security cameras. I guess the movie would have made no sense then, huh?

Rami who played the pharoah is Egyptian, not white. I dont know where people got that from. I think people who are complaining wanted more black people and they could have put an inventor, singer, or someone famous. Also people are probaly upset because when ever Africa comes into the mix they put animals. They probaly feel offended, thinking that people or Hollywood is still calling black people animals.

The only thing I did not like is when Ben Stiller said "North wins, slavery is bad, sorry". I felt like why do you have to say sorry for something that was bad.

reply

He wasnt actually saying sorry because slavery is bad. he was saying sorry because he was sorry to disappoint the south.
Honestly, this movie isnt racist. I mean, yeah, most of the AFRICAN references were animals, but if I recall correctly, there wasnt alot taught in my World History class that had to do with "famous" people, or historical references from Africa.
The black guy is not the only villan either.
Seriously, people in this world are too sensitive about things that dont matter, or use race as a way to get what they want.
Prime example! My sister-in-law hit another car the other day. It was 9pm and dark. The guy was black. She didnt hit him because he's black, but he is suing her and her parents saying that she hit him due to his race.
It's becoming bullsh*t that people(and yes, mostly whites) have t walk on egg shells around other races for fear of something sounding racist.

Thank you for clearing the part about Ben Stiller. I was so confused. They should have put famous African Americans like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., George Washington Carver,Matthew Henson, Wilma Rudolph, and many more. They should have put one of those historical figures.

Also there were famous African figures like Shaka Zulu, Makeda, Candace and others.

Has any of you actually been to this museum in NYC? I am sure they did their best to maintain accuracy to the layout of the real museum in relation to the one in the movie.

I also hate that so many people post subjects/threads calling movies "racist." These people who put up these posts try to sound so intelligent. But the dummies should look up the definition of racist. A movie cannot be racist. It can be discriminatory, though.
